Flex Rx Clinical Fitness

Vivo Barefoot is the most superior biomechanically correct footwear available in the world. After wearing them for only two weeks, I am convinced of the postural, sensory and musculoskeletal benefits and encourage all of my clients to wear them for greatly improved functional ability of the loco motor system, whether exercising or not.

Amelia Mularz, freelancer for publications like SkinnyandtheCity.com, TheKnot.com, NatGeo.com, etc has posted her personal review of the VivoBarefoot Lucy style shoe on National Geographic Traveler’s blog. Amelia met both Galahad and Asher at the New York Store Born to Run event in June.

I snagged a pair of Terra Plana's Vivo Barefoot shoes. The idea is to strip the shoe down so that the foot can perform as it was naturally intended to--landing midfoot rather than on the heel. This shortens the stride and keeps the feet beneath the hips, which many argue is a healthier, more balanced form. In addition to realigning natural posture, the shoes also flex and strengthen muscles within the foot and stimulate all 200,000 nerve endings.

Is Running Barefoot the Answer to Runners’ Foot, Ankle and Knee Problems?
As a podiatrist, my teachers, professors and peers, espoused that feet need help, specifically they need good support, cushioning, and padding. But, more and more, I started reading about people and cultures that go barefoot and not only do they have fewer foot, ankle, knee and even back problems. Now, I am re-thinking everything I learned.

You Walk Wrong
It took 4 million years of evolution to perfect the human foot. But we’re wrecking it with every step we take.

How to Get the Vivo Barefoot Shoes
After Adam Sternbergh expressed his affection for the Vivo Barefoot shoes in New York's You Walk Wrong article in April, the kicks have been impossible to get ahold of. They're made by Terra Plana, a small U.K.-based company with a store on Elizabeth Street in Nolita, and are designed to simulate barefoot walking — which is healthier than walking in shoes. The store is the only one in North America, and its stock of Barefoots sold out three days after the article hit newsstands.

More happy customers

I had purchased a pair of "worn again" shoes from handcut about one year ago and i LIVED in them. When i saw the new Terra Plana collection i was stoked. Loads of colors and styles, and still super comfortable, light as a feather and with FUNKY  designs !

I couldn't believe that a shoe that feels so light and soft can be so supportive and comfortable. They also stand the test of time - even with loads of wear, my original worn again shoes still look as good as new. Not only do they look great, but you're also doing your little bit for the environment as each pair is made of recycled materials. PLUS they come in sizes that suit even my tiny size 5 foot. I now have 3 pairs and struggle to decide which ones to wear each day."

‘Every time I wear my Junipers by Terra Plana - people ask me where I've bought them. They are so unique and I love telling the story about how each shoe is so different, made from reclaimed quilts and a one of a kind. It's funny how I end up having these amazing conversations with complete strangers all because of the shoes'.

Wendy Black - Communications Director SYDNEY

‘I always like to have something a little bit different, something that's new and stands out a bit without being too over the top. The Vivo Barefoot look good whether it's with my jeans or board shorts - so I always seem to be in them’.

Steve Price 2UE SYDNEY

‘The Odette are the only shoes I will wear besides my thongs. They're great for running around’.

Kate Price - student Redlands - SYDNEY

Lucy Price - student Redlands SYDNEY

‘My mum has the Terra Plana store, so I have been have been wearing the Vivo Barefoot for a while now…..I just love the funky colors and it’s like wearing no shoes at all – I did the City to Surf this year with my mum and we both wore our Vivo Barefoot – no problems – I made the distance and my feet felt great - my friends are so excited about the new store, because this means they can also have happy healthy feet’.
